Meet our newest metal fidget The Detonator.  It is a multifunction sensory support.  

Its designed to be cradled between the pointer and middle fingers whilst using the thumb to roll and/or press and click (with minimal sound) the roller component.  The hidden gem of this support is that is has a textured finish on its base which can be placed on skin (for example inside of arm or palm) and twisted for high sensory input or 'ouch'.  It can also be picked & scratched at, making it a tool for harm minimisation. Mini Hand Rollers by Kaiko Fidgets  - textured & smooth  options available

We are so excited by these.   Many have requested a more 'in pocket' size for our hand rollers.  So we created the mini range.  With both smooth and textured options, these are a wonderful sensory support for ANY age.   

Smaller both in length and diameter than our orignial hand rollers, these feel amazing in the hand and are not too large for the pocket.  The textured one can also be 'picked' - as a picking support.  The textured version feels quite different to the touch compared to the smooth one.   It is likely for large hands these will feel too small, but perfect for average to small adult hands and for children.

Rotate in your hand, roll between your palms or roll to massage are three great ways you can use them. To gain an idea of how they feel to use - if you have some fat textas on hand place two in the same hand, side by side, and rotate around themselves.

We get asked frequently if these are helpful for carpel tunnel.  It is important to seek your treating dr/ therapists opinion, but often they can be helpful. 

Hand squeeze exercises and tendon glide action are two exercises that are used for it and both are/can be emulated with the hand roller. Wrist stretch with weights is another and the hand roller can be used for that too. Generally best to keep selected weight to the lighter styles (145, 180 gram or 100 gram).  You may feel a gentle pull or stretch during use.  However, should stop if experiencing any pain.

You can unscrew the centre from the spinning cog.

The centre part is aluminium for the sliver and gold cog, black powder coated stainless steel in the black cog & treated stainless steel in the oil slick cog. The inner cog is stainless steel in all. Our amazing Kaiko Spikey fidget has been an instant favourite! It provides firm and textured sensory feedback when rolled up and down the finger. It is touted to have remedial benefit, stimulating acupressure points & assisting with circulation. These are stretchy but firm.

It is particularly good for those that pick and bite as the 'bitey' sensation stimulates in a similar way without the harm. 

Some ways to use the spikey...

• Roll up & down the finger. It can be rolled using the same hand or alternate hand.
• Rub between two palms
• Hold in one or two hands to fidget
• Place on finger & twist around using thumb (similar to a 'Chinese burn') applying varying degrees of pressure-dependent on preference. This technique has been particularly helpful for some in minimising self-harm. • Place on one finger & squeeze adjacent fingers into it.

Please note if wearing the spikey for any period of time that it is important to monitor the skin to ensure it is not compromising circulation.

You can slightly stretch the metal, working around it to create a looser feel if preferred. Needs to be done bit by bit and section by section to create an even stretch. (See video). Please note once stretched it cannot be unstretched.

• The metal is highly durable but can be over stretched if used not in accordance with its typical use by rigorous stretching. It is not meant to be pulled significantly so may not suit some that like to pull things apart. It will not recover if over stretched.

The spikey material is not designed to be over stretched/ over extended using both hands. If overstretched it will become out of shape and not return to its original form. Thus, not suitable for those that like to pull at things with two hands, like to pull things apart or generally like to test limits of products.

If wanting to wear it or alter sensory input you can gently over stretch it to increase its size.  To do this take your time and very slowly work around ring with both hands putting tension on metal. Over stretching will cause it to loose shape and it will not rebound.

To shorten necklace:

Simply cut and retie knot at each end to the desired length & pull knot back into the casing of the clasp. We find the easiest way to find optimum length is to have arms at right angle across belly. The bead length should be about at this height.

NON STICKY, STRETCHY SENSORY FUN

Amazing take on our stretchy sand. This is next level. Stretchy without being sticky and smells amazing! It feels amazing. It is similar to kinetic sand but stretchy. It is super satisfying. I promise this isn't just for kids! Adults love it also! This container is perfect hand size.

Each unit Approx 132 grams however can vary. We use premium quality In Essence essential oils. All hand blended here in Melbourne. Typically the scent is sent in the colour shown, however if unavailable we substitute the colour to closest match. The correct scent will still be in the product.

The sand itself is non toxic but it is not for eating. Some essential oils can be toxic. There is a very low amount in the sand however please note if ingested so please seek assistance on the poison line ph 13 11 26.

Please note there can be varience in how the sand stretches between batches and this is usual and not a fault. It is possible to get two different colours that feel different, again variance is common and an inherent part of how these are. Over time they can lose their stretch. They are a consumable product. Once they start to crumble it generally means they’ve lost their stretch. Over time, with frequency of use and depending on things like hand cream/sanitiser/natural oils on hands this can happen as they aren’t full of chemicals to hold it. Colours can vary between batches & texture may vary slightly from colour to colour.

Also note if hands are wet, have sanitiser/moisturiser recently applied or similar colour may come off on hands or surroundings as moisturizer can impact the sand itself. Common sense regarding how and where you use this is important.
